There, he and the filmmakers meet 3 homeless individuals, whose stories are the unfortunate embodiment of what it means to be homeless in America. Meet Red Hawk, who has been homeless for 13 years. His infectious personality and spirit immediately endears him to everyone he meets. Chris Valdez is the loner, with a big heart, whose suffering on the streets has not diminished his loveable personality. Denise "Pack Rat" Segmiller, a homeless prostitute, is primarily known as and the Queen of the Guadeloupe River, because of her nurturing personality amongst the fellow homeless. Their stories remind us all that, at any point, we can all end up living on the streets. As Hughes and his film crew set out to help these homeless people put their lives back together, they ultimately have no idea of what they are about to discover.
